I LOVE HALLOWEEN!!!

We always go to a few Halloween parties each year. We went with Clint's costume idea this year. We are Jack Burton and Gracy Law from one of Clint's favorite 80's movie "Big Trouble in Little China." Bodie is a Power Ranger and Kayla is a strawberry. We always enjoy dressing up and having fun each year.

The time has finally come. My 30th birthday!! I am not very happy about it!! Clint was SO sweet and surprised me with a weekend getaway/birthday party up at Snowbird's Oktoberfest. He got us a room at the Cliff lodge and arranged for some friends to come up. We spent the day on the alpine slide, zipline, riding the fake bull, the tram, and a TON of eating!! It was SO much fun!!

The weather couldn't have been more perfect. The leaves were changing, and the sun was out.

Circus

We took Bodie to the circus on Sunday. He had a lot of fun! We went before it started to see the elephants, lions, tigers, horses, and zebras. You get to see the animals much closer than at the zoo. Sorry these pictures aren't the best. My camera died, so these are from my phone.

We told Bodie he could pick one souvenir. Of course, he picks the most expensive "crap" toy available. Some stupid light up toy that cost $22!! That's more than a ticket to the show.

There was lots to see and do before the show. Lots of clowns and juggling.

It was a little strange being a family of 3 again. My parents watched Kayla for us. She wouldn't have lasted very long here. I couldn't believe how long the show was! It was a ton of fun to take Bodie and just focus on him.

Clint's friend Mike has a boat and we go out on it every so often. We have always wanted to take Bodie, but it never really worked out. We finally were able to get him out on the boat this weekend and he LOVED it!! I wasn't able to go because we didn't have a babysitter for Kayla. Clint and Bodie had a great day tubing, wakeboarding, and fishing.

We celebrated Bodie's 4th birthday this past weekend. I cannot believe that he is 4!! Clint's parents were able to come and be here for the party. We had the party in the backyard and had a bounce house and slip and slide. The kids had a ton of fun playing with water guns and running around. Bodie received awesome presents! He finally got the bike that he has been begging us for and rides it every day.

Kayla is also 4 months old. Here are her stats:

Weight: 13 lbs 14.5 ounces (70th percentile)

Height: 24 inches (50th percentile)

Overall: 50th percentile

Kayla is such a happy, smiley baby. She holds her head up great and is reaching for things. Her hair is getting pretty crazy and I don't know what to do with it. Clint says she looks like a troll doll. Her nick-name that we have given her is spitty slug. She spits up A TON and really has no desire to move. She enjoys just laying on her back and chilling (which I am fine with).

This is a first in our house. Bodie has never been a good sleeper/napper. Bodie can go all day and all night long. He was refusing to eat what I made so I wouldn't let him leave his chair until he ate dinner. I turned around and found him dead asleep, snoring.

I took Kayla a couple weeks ago in for her 2 month doctor appointment. She is a chunk!!

I went and looked back at the size of Bodie at this age.

Weight: 8.14 lbs

Bodie has never been outside of the 10th percentile. There were times he wasn't even on the chart! It is so different to look down at a baby with fat rolls. She is growing SO FAST!! Kayla loves to smile and coo. Many times it is difficult to feed her because she is smiling so much. She is truly a good baby. We love having her around. I have to return to work in 2 weeks and I am just trying to get prepared for this transition. Its giving me a lot of anxiety!!

Bodie is really into watching the Backyardigans right now. His favorite episode is about being a secret agent and creeping into a museum. He watches it all the time and has memorized the words and the dance. Enjoy!

Easter 2011

The night we planned to color Easter Eggs Bodie decided he would crash at 7 pm (which rarely happens).

We live on a private street with only 3 kids, so we have started doing our own Easter Egg hunt along the street. It is great because the kids get A TON of eggs. This year each child got 70 candy filled eggs to find.

Bodie still is quite into the hunt yet. When we told him to "go" he said he was still tired.

These are the Easter baskets for the kids. I wasn't happy with the baskets they sell in the stores so I got crafty and made these. I hope they will last a long time!!

2 week appointment

I took Kayla on Monday for her 2 week appointment. Everything is looking great!! She is back up to her birth weight of 7lbs 10 oz. When we left the hospital she was 6 lbs 13 oz. I had them measure her length very accurately this time and I was right. She is 20 inches- not 21.25. My children are not that tall! Overall she is in the 45th percentile. Bodie has never made it out of the 10th percentile. I think his little sister is going to be beating him up! She is such a good baby-thank goodness! She is sleeping 5 hours a night so I really only have to get up once with her. She really doesn't even cry. I hope this all continues!!

It was Bodie's birthday on July 10, 2010. He turned 3 years old!!! That is crazy!! For his party he said that he wanted to ride roller coaster's so we went to Jungle Jim's. He had is cousins, neighbors, and grandparents all celebrating his special day.

B0die was asked to be the ring bearer at our close friends Roger and Kim's wedding. He couldn't have done it any better. We told him that if he walked down the aisle good he could pick any toy. Not only did he walk down the aisle good, but he stood with all the other groomsmen during the whole ceremony. It was amazing!! I was so nervous that he was going to act out and ruin their wedding ceremony. He seems to really come through at the moments I need him to be good. He looked so cute in his little tuxedo. It was quite the task finding him a tux that would fit. See, he is going to be 3 next week but he barely wears 2T clothing. It all worked out and the wedding was perfect!!

Dentist

A few months ago Bodie went to the dentist for the 1st time (I know I am a little late in taking him). We found an AWESOME dentist with and AMAZING office. The whole office is in a sea theme with water, a dock, and an underwater cave. Bodie enjoyed the whole visit. He got to watch a movie during his cleaning, pick a prize, and ride a carousel. He was so good and laid in the chair holding still the entire time!! He gets so excited now when I talk about going to the dentist and brushing his teeth!!

Easter 2010

Easter was FREEZING this year!! Since we live on a basically empty street and only have one set of neighbors we decided to do our own Easter Egg hunt along the whole street instead of going to a city one. It turned out great!! We had around 120 eggs for 4 kids!! They all had so much candy.

Oklahoma

We were able to go back to Oklahoma at the end of March for a week. We went for Clint's grandma's funeral and his brother Jason's wedding. It was the busiest trip we have had out there. We got to visit with a lot of cousin's and extended family that we rarely see.

Bodie hadn't taken a nap for days and he fell asleep on the floor of the restaurant for over 2 hours. He was so exhausted. When we got home from the trip he slept for almost 14 hours one day.

Clint and I were able to go down to Vegas for Valentine's Day weekend and see my all time favorite singer Garth Brooks. Clints mom flew into town to watch Bodie and we had a mini getaway. It was the most amazing concert I have ever been to. They didn't allow any camera's or cell phones so I have no pictures. The venue was at the Wynn and it was in the Encore theater which was as big as a movie theater. We were so close. He literally walked out on stage in jeans, a sweatshirt, and his work boots. All he had was a guitar. It was like Garth Brooks unplugged!! It was so amazing!!

Bodie went in for his 3rd set of tubes for his ears on January 13, 2010. He had to get new ones because he got another really bad ear infection that burst his eardrum and pushed the other tubes out. This time they put a more specialized set in called T tubes and they also repaired his ruptured ear drum. This boy has been through a lot!! I was really scared to hand him over to the nurses to go to the OR this time because he was old enough to know something was going on. The nurses asked if I wanted him drugged so he would handle it better and of course I said "Yes!!". It was the funniest thing in the world to see him unable to sit, or walk. He was even drooling, but he looked SO happy. The surgery went well and his ears are doing great for now.

Christmas was great this year. We stayed in Utah for the first time in a few years. It was nice to have our first Christmas in the new house. Bodie got completely spoiled. He got a train set, Buzz Lightyear action figure, tons of Cars toys, Nerf gun, movies, an animated rocking horse, and a bowling set. He LOVES to bowl!! We decorated cookies on Christmas eve and on Christmas day went to my parents house for dinner. These pictures are totally out of order, but I am too lazy to fix it.

We were crazy enough to take Bodie to see the Zoo Lights. It was so dang cold, but it was fun to have a night out together. The best part was eating the deep fried smores!!

The only animals dumb enough to be outside were the tigers.

A few weeks ago Bodie's school had a Polar Express night. He had so much fun!!

Bodie wasn't scared of Santa at all!! He was running into other people's picture to get to Santa.

Big Boy Bed

So we moved Bodie to a Big Boy bed a few days ago and it is not going well. We have ended up locking him in his room and letting him scream himself to sleep. I can hear him throwing things, kicking the door, and found out he is climbing on the dresser. This morning when I went in I found him like this.

Any advice would be great!! Night time is now a horrific event at our house.

I promised Bodie that if he went "poop" in the potty that I would take him on a train ride. It took him a few days to figure it out, but he did it!! We have been diaperless for 2 weeks now with almost no accidents. I had Thursday off work so we rode the trax train down to the Gateway. It was such a perfect day!! We had a ton of fun together and celebrating Bodie being a Big Boy!

Potty training

They all said that it could not be done with a boy who had just turned 2 and I was going to prove them wrong!! Clint went to Texas and Oklahoma over Labor day weekend so I thought "what better way to spend my days alone than potty training Bodie?" I was told about a 3 day method and was bound and determined to do it. Well, WE DID IT!!! We have had no accidents since Saturday afternoon. He is doing amazingly well. He uses no diaper, no pull-ups- only big boy underwear!! I am so proud of him.

This is the cut he got the day before we started. He fell off a piano bench at my mom's house. The doctor didn't want to do stitches so he ended up with medical "superglue" and steri-strips. It's not big, but it was pretty deep. He was very brave!!

Alumni Football

Clint and all his friends played again this year in the annual Murray High School Alumni flag footbally tournament. The weather was cold, windy, and rainy. We still had a good time though. I brought Bodie and the dogs to the feild to watch. Bodie thought he could play and kept running onto the feild. The team made it to the championship game, but lost in the end.

Since summer is pretty much over and I haven't blogged forever, I will talk about our new swimming pool that we LOVE!! My friend Kelli took me here first with her daughter Alli and another friend Karen and her son Ian. We had such a blast, that I am now willing to drive the 20-25 minutes to the pool in Bountiful. It has an indoor/outdoor splashpad, pirate ship, water guns, waterslide, and lazy river!! We went there a few other times this summer and enjoyed it as a family.

Bodie got spoiled yet another year for his birthday. We had a nice BBQ in our new backyard with what small family we have and wonderful friends. After the BBQ we ordered the UFC fights so the party continued into the night. Bodie got such great gifts like trucks, trains, golf clubs, and tee-ball just to name a few things. His Nanna Miller sent him a John Deere tractor from Oklahoma. He loves to ride it. I only wish he knew how to steer. The food was excellent and the company was the best!!

Summertime in Oklahoma

We were able to go visit Clint's family in Oklahoma just before Bodie turned 2 this June. We had to get in one last free flight. We had a great trip minus the fact that we went during a HEAT WAVE!! It was like 102 degrees with a ton of humidity!! Crazy hot!! Because of this we spent a lot of time in water. We went to a waterpark and Clint's family bought a pool for us to cool down in. We went to a pizza/arcade/amusement place, watched movies, lit fireworks, went to the park, and had a wonderful time just haning out.

I can't believe how fast two years have gone!! I can't believe how much Bodie can do now. He is such a little man. He is learning and progressing with everyday. He is such a good boy and can always make me laugh! He has the cutest most contagious smile ever!! His favorite things are the new puppies, cars, trucks, planes, and to play baseball. He can actually swing a bat and hit the ball. He has quite the throwing arm as well. His vocabulary is growing everyday. We love him so much and don't know what our life would be like without him!! Happy Birthday Bojo!!

We have been thinking about getting a new dog for a little while now and we found some puppies on KSL that we couldn't say no to. Introducing Boomer and Bronx Miller. The newest additions to our family. We wanted to get two so that they could keep each other company and play together. They are such good puppies. They are doing great at potty training and are so snuggly. Bodie absolutly adores them!!

We have been having a lot of work going on at our new house. We have got the yard all in and pretty much finished. It is so nice to be able to have somewhere to run and play with Bodie. We hired out the sprinklers, sod, concrete, and curbing. We did all the rock with the help of our wonderful neighbors!!

Clint graduated from the University of Utah on Friday, May 8 2009!!! He graduated with his Bachelor's degree in Business Finance! His mom and grandma and uncle Robert all flew in for this special occasion. Clint has worked so hard to get through school. He allowed me to finish school first and supported our family; then he continued to work full-time and go to school at night full-time to finally graduate. We are so happy that he is done!! I can't wait to have him home at night again. I love you Clint and all the hard work you do for our family!!

On Thursday mornings we go to Kindermusik. It is a place where we sing, dance, play instruments, learn, and get to meet other moms and kids. We absolutley love it!! I am sad that this semester is ending. I have seen Bodie learn and grow so much by doing this class. I can't wait to start up next semester. Here are a few photos from one of our last classes.

Its Britney

So this post is a little late, but oh well!! I was able to go to the Britney Spear's concert with my wonderful friend Chelsey a few weeks ago. It was so much fun!! We were able to get backstage and meet the Pussycat Dolls thanks to Jessica who bought our old house! We weren't able to meet Britney because apparently she doesn't do that right now and her rules were no pictures. So we didn't get any pictures with the Pussycat Dolls, but they did give us an autographed photo. They were really nice and cute!! The blonde one named Ashley was the prettiest. And the lead singer Nicole is not as hot in person as you would think. Anyways, we had dinner at Happy Sumo then went to the concert and then had 2 am Taco bell with some great girl chat in the car. It was an awesome night out with some great memories!!!

For Easter we went to the West Jordan Easter Egg hunt. Bodie was very excited to get some candy. The whole thing lasted about a minute and a half, but it was a fun thing to do as a family. It was kind of cold so we didn't stay too long. Bodie ended up with about 20 pieces of candy, most of which were taffy that he hasn't figured out how to eat. On Sunday we had a basket ready for him with a few little toys and one big castle that has a marble run. He loves playing with it!!

These pictures are so out of order, but I had to say thanks to everyone that helped us move. Clint parents came out from Oklahoma and helped so much with unpacking and really really put his dad to work on installing more cabinets and fixtures. Thanks for all your help!!! We couldn't have done it without you!! My parents came and cleaned the whole house before we moved our stuff in, which was so nice because it was very dusty. Thank you mom and dad!! Clints friends: Ty, Chris, and Greg did all the moving. You guys are the best!! We were able to do everything in 2 truckloads in 2 days!! It is so awesome to live close to everything. We have met our new neighbors and they are amazing!!! We have already had dinner with them twice. I haven't really started to decorate because I don't want to put holes in the wall unless I am totally sure. We are still unpacking and figuring out where things go. We still do not have blinds and we are working on what to do with the yard. Life is still crazy because I am picking up an extra shift at work now and taking call, but I am hoping by summer things will be settleing down. Well, we are supposed to close on the sale of our existing home and our new home this coming Wednesday. Everything looks so much better than last year!! This is actually going to happen. Here are some pictures of the new home. We are moving to our dream location and dream home!! Our new address will be 6209 Elderberry Lane Murray, UT 84123 and our new phone number will be 801-266-1595. I can't wait to move in and start to decorate, although I don't know where to begin. We are so excited!! The house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a large bonus room above the garage. It is on a 0.25 acre lot. It is all tile with corian counters throughout and custom cabinets. All the closets have built in organizers. It has ceiling fans, molding, two tone paint, gorgeous french doors, fireplace, and stainless steel appliances!! It has a huge unfinished daylight basement. So altogether it is around 3200 sq feet. We hope to be here for a long time

We were able to meet the people who are buying our house and we absolutley love them. They are a family just like us!!! There boy is 5 days older than Bodie and they even have a pug. She is Jessica the morning DJ on 97.1 ZHT and her husband is Kevin a DJ on a sports radio station. There isn't a more perfect couple that could be moving in to our home to take care of it. I now see how I have been blessed that the sale fell through last May. It is just like everyone told me; "It just wasn't the right time for you." It all is working out in the end!!

I can't wait to have people over!

Green Sticker!!!

In th process of selling our house the buyers requested that we get our furnace green stickered. I thought this would be no problem because our house is only 5 1/2 years old. I found a company (Action Plumbing 255-3343) that is having a special now for only $45.00. They will come and clean, service, and green sticker your furnace. When they came they found that my furnace had about 4 very large cracks in it and it had to be compleltly replaced!!! They also told me that the cracks have been leaking carbon monoxide for who knows how long. We also do not have carbon monoxide detectors in our house. That is so scary!! So if your furnace is not green stickered please call and get it checked out and let them know that I referred you! It could save your life!!

Bodie got his first real hair cut on Valentine's Day. I normally cut his hair, but it is getting to be way out of hand and too much of a mess. We went to the local cookie cutters and they did a great job!! He got a sucker and got to watch Dora.

Our Valentine's Day was spent packing for the new house!! We move in about a week and half if everything goes through-which it is looking likely this time. This is the only picture I was able to get of Bodie while at Primary Childrens. He doesn't have his oxygen on at the moment, but you can see the IV in his little hand. This was when he was actually starting to feel better. He is doing much better now and I think is almost back to normal. Thanks to everyone who helped us out and prayed for him. We really appreciate it!!

An exhausting weekend!!

As usual Bodie has been sick. He had just finished a round of antibiotics and started getting a cough and runny nose again so I took him to the doctor on Monday. He said that sinus infections sometimes need 2 courses of antibiotics and sent us away with the same medication. Tuesday came and he started to get a fever of around 103.5. I could get it down to like 101 with motrin, but he was miserable. He wasn't eating or drinking. I called the doctor on Wednesday to see if they would switch the antibiotic because it wasn't working. They said no and wait out the fever until Friday. Friday came and I took him in the morning. They immediatly saw him and checked his oxygen saturations. He was in the low 80's ( you are supposed to be like 98-100). They gave him a breathing treatment which did no good. He was on 4 liters of oxygen and still was barely holding strong at 88. With that number the doctor had to call the ambulance and we were then transported to Primary Childrens Hospital. When we got there he tested positive for RSV. They said his lungs sounded like rice crispie cereal. So we then were admitted because he needed his airway suctioned and he needed to be on oxygen. He also needed IV therapy for dehydration because he hadn't eaten or drank for around 5 days. He alsod develoved ear infections in both ears. He was up and down in the hospital. We ended up getting out sunday afternoon. Now I have to go back to the doctor tomorrow (Monday) to see how he is doing at home. He still isn't really eating or drinking. If that continues they will admit him again. Clint wasn't able to stay at the hospital because they only allow one parent overnight. We are all lacking sleep and living hour by hour to see how Bodie feels. He is so up and down. This has all hit at a really bad time. We sold our house and are in contract to buy another one. We are supposed to move in 3 weeks. Clint has midterms in 3 weeks and I am supposed to be on my first call rotation in 3 weeks. Needless to say we are feeling a bit overwhelmed and stressed. I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers for Bodie while he was in the hospital. Please continue to have us in your thoughts as we struggle through this rough patch. I worry so much about Clint with him working so much and going to school full time. I stress over the fact that we will be having a higher mortgage payment for our new house, but know in my head that my family needs a different house. Sorry this is such a long ramble, but I have to get some things out.

Dilema

So for those of you who don't know our house is under contract again. We are supposed to move February 26 if all goes well. I thought that we would find a ton of houses that we liked and would have to narrow them down, but this isn't happening. We did find one we were going to put an offer on, but it went under contract the day before. We LOVED it and are having a hard time getting over that house. We compare everything to that one. There is a house we really like in our dream area, but we are hesitant because it is the only lived in house on the street. It is kind of a weird street where the builder has stopped building and is all by itself next to older neighborhoods. It doesn't give me a community sense at all, but I love the house. All the other houses are completly trashed and need work or to change a lot of stuff to our style. Do I go with the new move in ready house in the perfect location on a weird street; or a house that we are just ok with? This house hunting is not fun anymore. Any advice would be great!!

I have officially gotten rid of the Binkie!!! The doctor wanted it to be gone by the time Bodie was 15 months old, but I needed it for our plane trip to Oklahoma. I was determined to work on it when we got back. On Sunday I just decided not to give it to him and he hasn't had it since. So that makes it 5 days!!! He hasn't even seemed to really miss it. Now that he doesn't have the Binkie in his mouth he runs around the house talking a ton of jibberish. I love it!! He seems to be having more fun now that he can talk his special language.

Oklahoma

We were able to go visit Clint's family in Oklahoma again this year for the holidays. We weren't there for Christmas, but it sure felt like it. We got to stay about 10 days. It was great!! Bodie loved all the new gifts he got and most of all he loved being with his Grandma and Grandpa Miller. We watched movies, played guitar hero, played games, went bowling, ate a lot of wonderful food, and overall just hung out and enjoyed the company. Bodie was great on all of the flights. None of them were full so we were able to take his car seat on and have a seat for him. That made a world of difference. I can't imagine having to have held him for 4 flights!! Thank you Southwest!! Bodie did have to visit the Emergency Room once while we were there. He fell off a chair and hit his head really hard on the tile. He got really sleepy and then threw up. We thought he had a concussion, but he seemed to perk up in the ER. They just watched him for a bit and sent us home. I think that trip was the beginning of many more ER visits to come. He is ALL BOY!!! Overall we had a wonderful time. We hated that we had to leave, but we have to get back to the grind. Clint is finishing his last semester at the U. Yeah!! Hope everyone else had a great holiday season!!

Christmas was so great at our house!! Bodie received a whole bunch of presents and chose to play with the boxes instead. Clint got me an Ipod Touch!!! I got Clint a whole new wardrobe it seems like. We all got spoiled. We have had a busy month with finals (Clint did awesome this semester!), shopping, and a trip to Bear Lake (pictures to come) I hope everyone else's holiday was as good as ours!!

So I have been able to get back into dancing thanks to Brittani Knudsen. She opened a studio up in her basement and a bunch of us old drill farts have been getting together on Thursday nights and dancing again. Well Britt was having her Christmas recital and decided that it needed some "real" talent and signed us up to perform. We danced last Thursday at Hunter High School. I think it went pretty good considering we only practiced like 3 times. Clint and Bodie came to watch. Clint was so nervous for me!! It was sweet. Some of the pictures are a little blurry-Sorry! I LOVE our Thursday night dance classes!! It is the ablsolute highlight of my week.

I love the holidays because friends come into town to visit!! I am getting to reunite with some of my wonderful drill team friends who have all moved away. I went to lunch with Lacey and Lindsay and had so much fun. I got to meet Lindsay's adorable little girl Olivia. Olivia is 1 month younger than Bodie. We all also went to a dance class together last week. I love getting together with old friends and talking about the good old days. I can't believe it has been 8 years!!! I wish people didn't live so far. Love ya Lindz and Lacey!!

This is Baxter when he had his spine surgery to repair the paralysis that was happening in his back legs. You think that having an incision like that you would kind of slow down. Well, not Baxter. The minute he got home from the surgery he was jumping up on the furniture!! The surgery helped him for a little while, but he had some permanent nerve damage. For all his health problems he was the best, most loving companion I could ever wish for.

Trick or Treat

Bodie went trick or treating for the first time this year. I considered it somewhat succesful. He didn't do to well at walking where we wanted him to so we ended up carrying him most of the time. His favorite part was pushing the doorbell at each house. He filled up his skull bucket and now takes all the candy out and puts it back in. It is the best free toy ever!!!

Our friends Chris and Joanne invited us to a Halloween party Saturday. It was great because kids were welcome too. Clint dressed as a 1920's gangster and I went as a flapper girl. Bodie was a tree frog. Everyone there had awesome costumes. The theme was Sweeney Todd and they made bloody meat pies to eat. They had so much spooky food and lots to do for the kids. Bodie was a little too young for many of the activities, but he enjoyed going up and down the stairs all night long. He also turned the light switch on and off all night too. It was a great night to get all dressed up and have fun together.

Bodie had his 15 month appointment today and he reached his goal. The goal was to hit 20 pounds by this appointment. He reached it and beat it!! His official weigh in was 20.2 lbs. What can I say, the kid is skinny. At least we aren't breaking the law anymore with his forward facing car seat. He is in the 5th percentile for weight, and 10th percentile for height. The only pants that will stay on his hips are 3-6 months. Needless to say his pants are floods on him!! I have gotten so much use out of his clothes. He may be little, but he is fiesty!!

Surgery Sucks!!

Bodie went in for the second surgery of his short life today. He had tubes placed in his ears in May hoping that would help his ear infections, but it didn't. So today they went back in and replaced the tubes, took out his adenoids and his tonsills all in hopes that he won't be getting sick all the time. Bodie has had 3 ear infections and sinus infections since the tubes were placed and he is constantly on antibiotics. Well now the antibiotics have stopped working on him. Hopefully with the removal of the adenoids and the tonsills the infections will at least slow down. The surgery went very well the doctor said. He had almost no bleeding, but when they gave Bodie a shot of Demerol for pain he STOPPED BREATHING!!! I guess they got him to breathe eventually because we are now home. The next week willl be very interesting to see how he copes with the pain. I just hope this will help. The kid can't live on antibiotics!

We went to the annual Utah State Fair today. It was really fun. We met up with my friend from work Kelli and her little girl Alexia. We saw all the animals and Bodie even rode one of the little horses. We ate really unhealthy food and loved every minute of it. Clint had a deep fried peanut butter and jelly sandwhich!!! They had a great little farm adventure for little kids where they got to go through the process of what happens on the farm. Bodie and Alexia enjoyed carrying their buckets and harvesting the crops. It was a great day with a good friend!!

How long?

It has officially been 1 week since Baxter died. The house seems so empty. Bodie looks for him, especially when he is eating. Bodie use to feed Baxter from his high chair. I never realized how good of a vacuum Baxter was. He really did a good job at eating every crumb off of the floor. The nights seem very weird. There are no more noises of his breathing and snoring or the need to go outside. Everything is different now. No one is there to great me when I get home. I miss his presence just sleeping soundly up on the couch, keeping watch over the house. I constantly still look at where he would normally lay or think to myself "Does Baxter need to go outside?" How long does it take to get over the death of something you were so use to and completely in love with? People tell me to go get another dog, but that seems like a betrayal. I don't want another dog unless it is the exact clone of Baxter. I haven't put his stuff away yet. I don't know what I will do with some of it. I know things will get easier with time, but for now there is still a large void in our hearts and our home.

For anyone who knows our family they know that we are animal lovers and have and always will be obsessed with Baxter our dog!! Baxter came into my life on Thanksgiving day in 2000. He was the best dog ever. I treated him and often called him my first born son. He brought so much joy into our family. In the past year and half he has been having some health issues. Baxter underwent a spine surgery in March of 2007 for an injury that paralyzed his back legs. The surgery was somewhat of a success, but he had some permanent nerve damage. We have been dealing with this ok. Last night Baxter became very ill and I took him to the vet this morning and he was in Kidney failure. The vet said we could try different things, but that he didn't think anything would fully restore his health. He was in a lot of pain so we made the hard decision to let him go. I think this is the hardest decision I have ever made. I hope it was the right one. Baxter has touched our lives in so many ways. He has always been there for me. Bodie loved Baxter so much. Baxter would let Bodie pull at him and climb all over him. Just this past week Bodie learned that he and Baxter could play tug of war with his toys. It was such a joy to watch my two boys play together. I know Baxter is up in heaven peeing on everything in sight, running around, eating pizza, and chewing bones. We will truly miss Baxter!!!! No other dog could EVER replace him!!

Last weekend Clint and his friends were able to participate in a Murray High School Alumni Football tournament. They played football for 5 hours straight!!! It was hot and exhausting, but they did really good! They even beat the Murray Varsity team for 2009!! All the other teams involved received hour breaks inbetween games except Clint's team. I guess it shows they still got game!

We went to Hogle Zoo when Clint's mom was in town for Bodie's Birthday. So this post is a little late. It was really fun, but really hot!!! Most of the animals were sleeping I think due to the heat. We rode the train and the carousel. Bodie loved the carousel. He rode it twice and threw a fit when we took him off of it. His Grandma Miller bought him a cool car at the gift shop that he loves to play with. Bodie had fun, but he didn't quite understand looking at the animals. I think next summer he will have more fun at the zoo.

Bodie's hopes of riding in a forward facing carseat will have to wait. We went for his 12 month check up on Thursday and he is only 18.5 pounds. You have to be at least 20 pounds. He has dropped from the 5th percentile for weight to the 2nd or 3rd percentile. He also dropped from the 50th percentile for height into the 30th. So overall this puts him in about the 10th percentile compared to other children. The doctor says he will only get worried if his head circumference goes down, but that is the only measurement that continues to go up. This means that he is getting enough nutrition; he is just small. The doctor said that we could start supplementing his food with pediasure. I am going to wait a month to see if the whole milk does anything. I just think he is really active. Hopefully we can switch his carseat at 15 months. He is getting really bored!

I had a coupon for 4 free sheets of pictures at Kiddie Kandids so I took Bodie on Friday to get these done. They turned out really cute and the best part was they were FREE!!! I have gotten the proofs back from the professional photographer that took our family pictures but there are so many (640 to be exact) that I can't decide. I will post some in a few days when I narrow it down more.

We had Bodie's birthday party at a park near our house. We did a BBQ and played volleyball. It was a ton of fun. The weather was perfect and we had a great turnout. Bodie took a while to dig into his cake, but he eventually was covered in chocolate. He got tons of great presents and enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Thanks to everyone who came and made it such a wonderful 1st birthday party.

I can't believe that one whole year has passed since Bodie came into our life. He brings so much joy into our lives and our home!! He is so cute and does some very funny things. He has had a pretty rough year with his health, but hopefully things can only get better! I look forward to what this next year will bring, but I will miss Bodie being my little baby boy.

I am glad to say that Bodie is doing much better!!! He is almost back to his normal self except the fact that he is extremely clingy now. I learned the hard way that if your child is sick don't hesitate to go to Primary Children's hospital. They are awesome up there!!! Thanks to everyone for their concern about Bodie.

We have been spending our nights at the park because our TV is broken and we can't watch our shows. I know Bodie has been loving it, but I miss my TV.

Monday night we headed back to the Emergency Room except this time we went to Primary Childrens Hospital. Bodie has continued throwing up and had severe diarrhea. He was dehydrated and they had to give him IV fluids. They almost admitted him, but the fluids seemed to really perk him up. The doctors think he has the stomach flu along with the hand, foot, and mouth disease. They think that with the fluids this should help him get over the hump and start to feel better. I hope it does. This has been so rough!!

Vomiting + Diarrhea = Fun weekend

Bodie has been very ill. Thursday night around 7 pm he started throwing up out of no where. This happened 7 times unil we took him into the ER at around midnight. He was to the point that he was throwing up stomach acid and bile. They gave him some medicine that made it so he could hold things down and sent us home. They told us to really push the fluids, but he won't wake up to eat and if he is awake he won't eat. So I then took him to his pediatrician who did a way better exam than the ER and she told us that he has Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease and another ear infection. Apparently this disease is spreading like wild fire around kids these days. He won't eat because he has blisters all over his mouth and throat. It also gives you body aches and a fever like the flu. So now it is Saturday and he is still throwing up, but now we have added diarrhea. He still really won't eat so we are forcing liquid in him by giving it through a syringe. This has been the sickest I have ever seen him. He is so lethargic and moans a lot. There isn't anything to do but wait it out and try and keep him from getting dehydrated. I hope things get better soon. I am sick of doing laundry and cleaning the carpet!!

As I was doing the laundry this morning I made a discovery. Bodie had put the keys we were looking for in his laundry basket. I never even thought to look there. To bad we already destroyed the filing cabinet in our attempt to open it. Oh well!!

So we never found the keys to the drawer that held my camera wire. We had to break open the drawer and buy a new filing cabinet. Now $50 bucks later here is the chicken dance video that I promised. Bodie loves this easter egg that his Grandma Karen gave him. Whenever he starts crying we play the music and he immediatly stops crying and starts dancing. I think he has chances at winning So You Think You Can Dance. The boy has some skills!!

We went down to St. George for Memorial weekend with our friends Ty and Chelsey Vigil. I wish the weather would have been a bit better, but we still managed to get some sun and pool time. We had such a good time!!! It was great to get away. We haven't gone on a mini vacation in a long time. Bodie really enjoyed the water and splashing around. He was really good throughout the entire trip. He even slept in his pack and play the whole weekend!!

Shopping at the Gateway

We went shopping at the Gateway on Sunday because it was such a gorgeous day. Bodie didn't quite understand splashing in the fountains yet, but it was just nice to be outdoors.

Here are the plugs the doctor suggested we have custom made for Bodie's ears. This is another thing we are doing to try and prevent his many ear infections. We had the tubes placed in his ears about 3 weeks ago and he has already had another ear infection. Lets hope this will help.

It is amazing the things Bodie has accomplished in just one week. He has gone from mastering crawling, to pulling himself up, and now he can stand and balance on his own!! We are in big trouble now!! Watch out! Walking is right around the corner.

So just to update everyone the people that were going to buy our house backed out at the last minute. It has been a big let down, but maybe it happened for some reason that I will find out in the future. We think we will stay in this house until Clint finishes school next spring. I am trying to look at the positives right now and be thankful that I have a home and a great family.

A whole new world

So last night I put Bodie to bed as usual. He did his normal nighttime routine where he chit chats with his stuffed animals and plays a bit in his crib before going to sleep. I felt a strong sense to go in and check on him, which I normally don't do before I know he is asleep. When Clint and I went in the room this is what we saw:

Bodie had a huge smile on his face and he had learned to pull himself up in his crib. So we then proceded to dismantle the crib and lower the matress for the next half hour. We are now in baby proofing mode.

Bodie has a new expression where he smiles really big and squints his eyes. He does it all the time now. He is finally starting to crawl, but still enjoys rolling to get what he wants. He is pretty much done eating baby food and only wants what Clint and I are eating. Hopefully this might help him start to gain some more weight so he isn't so scrawny.

SOLD!!!!!

So in case you didn't know we sold our little house. I am going to really miss this house. A lot has happened with our family here. I will especially miss Bodie's room. We worked so hard painting and decorating it. I will miss sitting in there and rocking him to sleep at 2 am. There are lots of great memories here. We think we have found a new one that will give us more opportunity to grow with it. Baxter will finally have a big yard to play in! We are very excited, scared, and nervous. It will bring us closer into the valley instead of BFE. Lets hope that everything works out smoothly.

So we went and had Bodie's nine month pictures taken today. For the most part things went smoothly, but there were some tears shed. He seems to be afraid of photographers, but in the end we got a few good ones. We went to the ENT doctor and we are going forward with getting tubes in his ears on April 28th. Lets hope that this helps with the ear infection problems.

Garth Brooks

So in case some of you didn't know, I am in love with Garth Brooks!! We have discovered that he lives about 20 minutes from Clint's parents in Oklahoma. Clints mom even talked to him while she was shopping at Albertsons! We hunted his house down this past Christmas when we visited. Here are some pics. This is as close as I could get due to security cameras. You think he would have a fancy gate at his driveway, but it is just chain link. I think I have become a stalker because we have found out where his children go to school, play soccer, and where he shops. I will eventually meet him someday!

Learning

So I am very new to this blog thing and I am trying to figure it out. You will have to be patient with me. For now I will just post some pics of Bodie (since that is all I take pictures of now) until I learn how to do fancy things. We haven't been up to much lately except for dealing with ear infections. YUCK!!! We go to the Ear specialist next week to see if Bodie needs tubes. I hope it will help. It has been a hard few months.
